What if my children currently receive Medicaid benefits? Do I need to apply again? |

No. Your children already are receiving the benefits provided under ARKids A. |

Does ARKids First provide insurance for adult parents or caregivers? |
|
|
No. The insurance coverage (ARKids A and B) applies only to children younger than 19. However, the parents or caregivers do count as part of the total number of family members in determining eligibility. Medicaid-eligible adults (age 19 and older) are covered separately from their children under regular Medicaid. |

Are there any deductibles, premiums or copayments involved with ARKids First? |
|
|
There are no deductibles, premiums or copayments for ARKids A coverage for children under 18; children who are 18 will have nominal cost sharing at the pharmacy, at the hospital on the first Medicaid covered day of a hospitalization, and for prescription services for eyeglasses. For ARKids B coverage, there are no deductibles or premiums, but you may be asked to make a small copayment--usually $10--when you visit the doctor. Is there a limit on the amount of a family’s cost-sharing? |
|
|
Yes. Effective July 1, 2006, DHS will set an annual cap on cost-sharing (co-payments and coinsurance) for ARKids B families. The annual cost-sharing cap is 5% of the family’s annual gross (before taxes) income. For example, if a family of four (4) has annual gross income of $40,000.00: $40,000.00 x 5%=$2,000.00. Therefore, the family’s maximum amount of cost-sharing is $2,000.00 for the year. |

Does the ARKids First program cover dental services? |
|
|
Yes. Both ARKids A and ARKids B cover dental services. ARKids B requires a $10 copayment. Orthodontic services are covered under ARKids A, upon approval. ARKids B does not cover orthodontic services. |
